LOCALS ONLY: Cooper Interviews Local Performer “Young Slugga”

Posted 2 years ago

By Cooper Radio Show

Hi, it’s Cooper from Mix 97-1.. I have had the chance to interview some famous people in my day and some ‘infamous” people in my day. This interview with Luke Hartman a.k.a “Young Slugga” is a little different than most. He comes off as a guy that is really looking to make a change in his life and the community that he calls home. Check out the audio and his video for the song “U Gotta Believe” below… Honestly, at first, I thought I was going to see a group of Jugglaos come walking into the studio make up and all. Joke was on me. I was pleasantly surprised when the interview ‘got real’.

It’s all up to you –

Okay I’m just asking who do think he is Machine Gun Kelley or Higher to get that many views. I know North Platte not only people who listen to the dude but 10,000 shares of this page in 1 1/2 days. That is maybe just maybe Danny Woodhead material for that many views just saying.

If each person that has already shared the story has 300 friends and gets each one of their friends to share it as well, there’s nearly 10K right there. But then, I was a math major in college.

        • Death Jam Records

Example. Slugga has 3,219 friends on his Facebook Page. If each one of them shared the story one time and then had three of their friends share it one time, this story would have over 10,000 shares. Again, I was a math major in college.

Okay Math Major out college, I’m a 16 your old High School student. I highly doubt you gotta think he does have his haters out there like every one does. Consider if your posting to North Platte’s Post’s web page how far has your Major got you? If your still in North Platte I don’t think very far unless you do all your work traveling and just come back to dinky North Platte just saying. Anyways off that part Your not including haters like he already has one clearly on these comments. Now do your math stuff and Divide all of it by 1/2 of every 2 people that don’t care for Slugga or support that man at all. Just saying the music world will bring hate plus for some reason people won’t let his past down at all.

  • I know you….

Luke Hartman, there are soooo many things I can say about you, I have known you for a long time, and I have to say I enjoyed listening to the interview, I appreciate the fact you were honest and real but I still don’t believe that you’re wanting to bring something better to this community. I can remember the so called “concerts” especially the last one with the no show Haystack or not no show but up and leave haystack…. I like the fact that you have a dream but I feel like your making your dream possible at others’ expense. I hope you do change it around and that you do make something of yourself but you are not going to get there with the lies, the cheating, the stealing, and so forth… Prove all of us who know the Luke Hartman from back in the day wrong and show us that you have changed and you are a better person that’s when you’ll succeed, unfortunately the rep you have in my book as well as ALOT of others is not good…. good luck in your endeavors.

Okay just saying Cooper I couldn’t be a radio broadcaster most likely at anytime in my life cause I’m not much of a speaker but I can tell alone during this Broadcast your trying to set up failure on behalf of Slugga. You chuckle during the Interview about things that some how are funny like Slim Shady. One Slugga isn’t Marshall Mathers and Yes, he is one of the best of all time in Hip-Hop and Yes, is very influenced speaker. Like Slugga said “The album (Recovery) is one of his most dedicated albums ever. He spoke truth in that song and isn’t got that big horrible drug dealing rap sheet that you thinking Coop. Your intro song is just tacky consider Slugga is nothing like that and your outro is well rolling with the devil. Dude is Slugga isn’t a famous puppet like Lil Wayne to the illuminati. Eminem/Slim Shady really isn’t a negative speaker though dude I don’t get what that was towards Slugga’s saying most rappers are Negative Speaking artist which they are and you through Slim Shady in there and laugh. I don’t get this play some music of Young Slugga’s and Don’t be such a tool no offense. I hope this get’s to your Boss @ Mix 97.1 cause man this was terrible. Give Luke Hartmann another shot at a interview give him more time and answer the question’s we want answered. Thank You for your Local Hip-Hop loving Teen!

What you DON’T know is that I think Luke has incredible talent. If I didn’t he never would have made the interview in the first place. I admire the fact that he’s trying to do positive for the community and for himself. Did you listen to the last thing I said in the interview?

As far as your comment about my asking for 10K shares. The more shares the story gets the more exposure Young Slugga gets. Think about that. Why don’t you help a brother out and get your buddies to share the story? then ask them to get their buddies to share the story. Etc. Spread the WERD!

    Current score: 3
    • BigBerg

I already have spread the word man. I did in fact listen to you saying the influence part about the car of bridge thing then you just cut it off the show.
I do help him out as much as I can man but your giving us a deadline of Friday. Are you saying Friday the 7th cause the would be insane to get. Now if he did that would be awesome and how do you know people are sharing this page. Cause I copied and pasted not went off the tabs that are for sharing on the page.
I get your respect for Slugga but it seemed that you complimented him one song and you said “First time listening to it.” Well I get you like it right away that awesome Cooper but I think a redo interview is much needed with these questions and his fan base’s as well. I think that is what I want and we’ll see who else wants it.

You saying that trying to say something to Slugga or saying that cause you like that Old School music?

      • Cooper Radio Show

Let me explain why I chose the songs I did to accompany the interview.

Cypress Hill: the Rap game is TOUGH. You can’t go into it with a hot head, you’ll get jacked. Example – TUPAC

Van Halen: If you’re in the entertainment industry, you are in fact “Running With The Devil”. You’re only as good as your last hit record. Example – Every single performer that’s only had ONE hit song. what are they doing now? Dishes at Denny’s? Yeah.

        Current score: 3
        • BigBerg

Again I respect that now that we are going into detail. “Running With The Devil,” Yes, that game is pretty wacky anymore but that song doesn’t fit I don’t believe.
Tupac never went into it hot headed the got into a bad situation. When I was no where near alive yet but East Side vs. West Side… Notorious B.I.G .vs. Tupac when really if you watched the movie were good friends but Tupac got capped in the elevator going to a studio with Biggie. That begin hate and all that. Tupac exposed something you may or not believe in but the illuminati and he was targeted by this demon who I believe control’s the sold out world of Hip-Hop we know of today.
Now I’m far to off topic so watch “MK Loves Hip-Hop” on youtube he goes into Hip-Hop/Rap hard!

Wow, BigBerg, whatever you are typing so absurd. This page is about getting Young Slugga some hits, and you’re talking nonsense about the illuminati, and tupac and biggie. Tsk tsk, I can tell you have a north platte high school education. Silly little boy.

Cool one Amber S-W I know who it is cause we just talked about it on Facebook but whatever. Know I’m going with what he brings up Slim Shady and Tupac. I try to put my opinion down towards what another say’s. He said “Tupac,” went into the game hot headed but that isn’t the reason why that man is dead if that is what he tried to point out. I know I get off topic but once I get typing about it or thinking about it I just gotta put it out. So have a nice day! ( :

I know this says LOCALS ONLY…but although I no longer live in North Platte…I was born there and I still visit on the regular and still have family there and all over Nebraska for that matter. A few years back I lost an Aunt in North Platte to her meth addiction, and it wasn’t until I spent almost a week there did I realize just how bad North Platte had gotten. I was almost embarrassed to call it home. I personally have to say that “Young Slugga” has been the best thing I’ve seen come out of North Platte in the years since my aunt’s passing. I guess the biggest difference between me and the locals is that I don’t know Luke from the old days…but I do know him NOW…and that says alot about him, his efforts AND his music. As different as we all might be as people, we all have one common ground and that is music. In 39 years, I have yet to meet a single individual who does not have a love for music of one genre’ or another. If music is what reaches people…then by all means…share it. Kudos to Young Slugga for using it to send a positive message and not one filled with the typical negative crap!

The best thing to come out of np? i know an injured soldier coming back to np, that to me is the best out of np. What really has “young slugga” done for the people of North Platte? Does he volunteer with habitat for humanity, Does he visit the elderly that have no-one come to see them, etc….just venting…
