NSP: I-80 Traffic Stop Leads To The Seizure Of 80 LBS Of Marijuana

A traffic stop for speeding on Interstate 80 in Keith County led to the seizure of 80 lbs. of marijuana and the arrest of a California man.

Just after 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, a trooper stopped an eastbound 2013 Ford Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), for speeding near the Roscoe Exit on I-80. The trooper was given consent to search the vehicle. The search led to the seizure of 80 lbs. of marijuana. The marijuana was located in a duffel bag and a car luggage carrier in the passenger/cargo area of the SUV.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, Matthew S. Hornsby, 38, Mariposa, Calif., was lodged in the Keith County Jail on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

    what a waste of maryjanelol. not to mention the tax dollars were going to spend housing and taking this “criminal” to court personally i think it’s a dumb/hopeless cause obviously their going to keep coming and all the while there’s bigger fish to fry but were so bent on getting those marijuana smokers the worst provlems are growing example:meth look at all the dumb@$$ people runnin around toothless and twitchin’like crazy but how often do you hear of meth labs getting busted? just my opinion but i’d like to see their attention put towards more harmful actual, drugsand /or crackheads off the streets

    All well and good but don’t complain about the Officer doing his or her job…if you don’t like the law write your law makers and get the law changed. But you can’t fault an officer for enforcing the laws….especially felonies.
