The 16th-ranked Husker softball team played longball in a 6-0 shutout victory over Creighton at Bowlin Stadium. All six of Nebraska’s runs came on home runs. Mattie Fowler got things started with a solo homer in the second. Brooke Thomason’s solo blast in the fourth made it a 2-0 game. In the sixth, Courtney Breault delivered the biggest blow, a grand slam that put the game on ice. The Huskers improve to 35-10 with the win. They host ninth-ranked Michigan in a pivotal Big Ten series this weekend.
