Omaha Man Sentenced for Threatening IRS Officers

irs(AP) — A 45-year-old Omaha man has been sentenced to three years of probation for a misdemeanor conviction of assault, resisting or impeding a federal officer.

Walter Trizila was sentenced Thursday.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for Nebraska says IRS officers were trying to seize a dump truck owned by Trizila’s employer on Nov. 8 when Trizila entered jumped into a front-loader, scooped a full load of dirt into the bucket and drove directly at the IRS officers.

Authorities say Trizila nearly hit one of the officers before dumping the entire load of dirt at their feet, blocking their attempts to take the truck.
