elderly-living-alone(AP) — Nebraska lawmakers are debating a bill that would have the state apply for a federal grant to increase the number of elderly people living in their own homes.

But senators failed to reach a vote on the measure, and are expected to resume debate on Wednesday.

The measure by Sen. Kate Bolz would direct the state to spend $8.5 million to qualify for $36 in federal aid for existing home and community-based services. Services include adult day care or respite services.

Some lawmakers say they’re concerned about the cost. Bolz says she expects the cost of the bill to decrease after a review of the bill on Friday.

The bill would also create a task force to examine the needs of the state’s aging population.

Another good bill that would cost a little now but would save money down the road. Republicans would be against it so it wont get done.

Try harder. You have no debating skills. You automaticly lose debates when all you can do is call people names.

There is another side to this but you have no intellect to bring out that viewpoint.

I could do a better job of experssing your view than you could.

300,000 Nebraskans will be age 65 or older within 5 years. It is better to prepare for this now.

This is a good bill and Republicans like you should get you heads out of your as$es now rather than later.

Become truly educated on issues so you dont look stupid when posting here.

Awww, its sooo sad that you can only wish you lived in a liberal cesspool and not in a conservative state! You could move where you would be welcomed with open arms! San (gay) Francisco! You could be amongst those who are like yourself!
