Virginia Dawn (Spencer) Bomberger

Virginia Dawn (Spencer) Bomberger departed this life Aug. 14, 2014. She was born Nov. 11, 1935 in North Platte, NE, to Millard and Gertrude Spencer. Her father left when she was a small child and was raised by her mother and step father, Mansel Given. She graduated in 1955 from North Platte High School. After graduation, she moved to New Jersey where her sister and brother-in-law were living. In 1960 she returned to North Platte, where she met her soul mate. On Jan. 29, 1962, she was united in marriage to Martin Bomberger. They were blessed with 3 children, Joe, Dawn and Jeff. They raised their family in Hershey, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Pat Howell; and a grandson, Ian Bomberger. Survivors include her husband Marty; sons, Joe (Linda), and Jeff Bomberger; daughter, Dawn (Nick) Legas; grandchildren, Natasha, Dillion, and Brandi Bomberger, Casey and Tyson Roy, Trey Legas, Nick, Matt and Kevin Legas; great-grandchildren, Josiah, Serena, Nicole, Brandi, Alyssa, Madison, Madeleine, Wyatt, Kyle, and Kaden; two sister-in-laws, Annette Johnson of Brady, and Barb (George) Leider of Lake Tahoe, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, Aug. 29, 2014 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, south of Maxwell, NE.
