One man arrested after leading law enforcement on a high speed chase in Red Willow County

McCook, Neb. - One man arrested after leading McCook PD, Nebraska State Patrol and Red Willow County Sherriff's office on a high speed chase with his motorcycle on Tuesday evening.

On April 23, 2024, at approximately 8:13 pm, McCook Police attempted to initate a traffic stop of a motorist on a motorcycle. The motorist failed to yield and attempted to elude the office by fleeing at a high rate of speed. McCook Police initiated a pursuit which headed east out of McCook.

McCook Police called for assistance from the Nebraska State Patrol and the Red Willow County Sherriff's Office to assist in the pursuit. The motorist continued east passing through Indianola, NE. At mile marker 103 on US Highway 6 & 34, the motorist turned around and headed west traveling back through Indianola. 

The motorist, all the while, continued to travel at a very high rate of speed. The motorist continued to travel west until the motorcycle experienced a blown rear tire and came to a stop at approximately mile marker 91 on US Highway 6  & 34 where the motorist surrendered to police. Neither the motorist nor the officers reported any injuries.


The motorist, Alcide Baudlon, was arrested on suspicion of several charges including willful reckless driving, felony flight to avoid arrest and an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was lodged in Red Willow County jail pending an initial court appearance.
