(McCook, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin, April 1 on N-18, on the bridge, at reference post 0.35, over Medicine Creek just south of Curtis. The work on the bridge, at reference post 10.75, over Medicine Creek just east of Stockville, is anticipated to start in late June, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Simons Contractors, Inc. of North Platte is the contractor for this project. Work includes bridge replacement grading, asphalt overlay, earth shoulder construction, and seeding. Traffic will be maintained with lane restrictions, temporary traffic signals for bridge work, and a pilot car and flaggers.

Traffic will be reduced to one 10-foot wide lane to cross the bridge during construction. A width restriction will be in place. Anticipated completion is June 2025.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
