OMAHA – Considering the recent devastating tornadoes that struck Nebraska communities, we at the League are deeply saddened by the loss and destruction experienced by our families, neighbors, and friends. Our hearts go out to all those affected by this tragedy, and we are committed to providing support and assistance during this difficult time.
To aid in the recovery efforts, the League is pleased to announce that the Credit Union Foundation of Nebraska (CUFN) has made a $10,000 donation, on behalf of Nebraska credit unions, to the United Way of the Midlands to assist tornado victims in rebuilding their lives.
“As not-for-profit cooperatives credit unions were founded on the principle of ‘people helping people’ and in times of disaster, credit unions don’t just weather the storm; they become beacons of hope, uniting their strengths to weave a safety net of support for their communities,” said League President and CEO Scott Sullivan.
